The Impacts of Tourism

        Tourism is the business activity connected with providing accommodation, services, and entertainment for people who are visiting a place for pleasure (Oxford Learners Dictionaries). Tourism can have a large impact on an area & certainly a tourist destination. Here are the impacts of tourism: 

    1. Environmental Impact
a. Positive Impact
- Improvement of sanitation and environmental facilities
- Community awareness to manage flora and fauna
- Maintaining the privilege of the environment, such as forests, beaches, animals and natural scenery
- Preserve the environment
- Grow a calm and clean atmosphere
- Increase physical and mental freshness!
- Far from pollution and dust
- Everyone can relax and restore physical and mental health
- Obtain added value from the utilization of the existing environment
- Increasing government efforts to improve the environment, conservation groups and agricultural environment
- Improve the restoration of historic sites and buildings
- Changes in the character of the building area through expansion and structuring of the city

b. Negative impact
- Environmental damage occurs by visitors who come to the area
- The ecological impact of tourism. 
- Violation of land provisions and land planning.
- Increase erosion. Such as coastal abrasion, landslides, geological damage and riverbank damage
- Over-exploitation of biological sources

   2. Economic Impact
a. Positive Impact
 Money from tourism proceeds can be used to improve regional infrastructure.
- The state can benefit from foreign investment in the tourism sector or other supporting sectors.
- Money circulation is evenly distributed in the community
- Tourism brings a lot of investment needed to an area
- Tourism provides employment for many local people, from working in hotels to selling knick-knacks on the beach for example.

b. Negative impact
- In fact, the money generated by the tourism sector is not included in the state treasury.
- Local workers do not receive large wages with poor working conditions.
- Proceeds from the foreign investment will be returned to the country of origin.

   3. Social Impact
a. Positive Impact
- Local communities can get along with people from different backgrounds with different lifestyles
- Cultural and customary preservation of an area
- Improve community intelligence obtained from visitors who come
- Improve physical and spiritual health
- Reducing social conflicts
- Arts and customs are growing
- Equation degree, someone appreciates on the basis of what is done, and not on the basis of who the person is
- Life's rhythms increase
- Conservation of cultural and local heritage from an area and the rebirth of its craft, architectural traditions, and ancestral heritage

b. Negative impact
- The population, especially teenagers, like to follow the lifestyle of the tourists who are not in accordance with the culture and personality of their own nation
- Increased crime, consumerism in local communities 
- Loss of community norms with interactions with foreign communities.
