Tokoh dan Penokohan dalam Novel The Royal Bread

Tokoh dan penokohan merupakan unsur yang penting dalam sebuah karya naratif. Siapa yang melakukan sesuatu dengan dikenai sesuatu, sesuatu yang dalam plot disebut sebagai peristiwa, siapa pembuat konflik, dan lain-lain adalah urusan tokoh dan penokohan.

Istilah tokoh menunjuk pada orangnya, pelaku cerita, misalnya sebagai jawaban terhadap pertanyaan “siapakah tokoh utama novel itu?” atau “ada berapa orang jumlah pelaku novel itu?” atau “siapakah tokoh protagonis dan antagonis dalam novel itu?” dan sebagainya (Nurgiyantoro, 1995:165). Selanjutnya, Sudjiman (1988:16) mengatakan bahwa tokoh adalah individu rekaan yang mengalamiperistiwa atau berkelakuan di dalam berbagai peristiwa cerita. Tokoh pada umumnya berwujud manusia, tetapi ada juga berwujud binatang atau benda.

Berikut ini pengklasifikasian tokoh:

a) Berdasarkan Peranan dan Tingkat Pentingnya: Tokoh Utama dan Tokoh Tambahan

b) Berdasarkan Peranan Tokoh dan Fungsi Penampilan Tokoh: Tokoh Protagonis dan Tokoh Antagonis

c) Berdasarkan Perwatakannya dan Tingkat Kompleksitasnya: Tokoh Sederhana dan Tokoh Bulat

d) Berdasarkan Kriteria Berkembang atau Tidaknya Perwatakan: Tokoh Statis dan Tokoh Berkembang

e) Berdasarkan Kemungkinan Pencerminan Tokoh: Tokoh Tipikal dan Tokoh Netral

Penokohan adalah cara pengarang menggambarkan atau melukiskan tokoh dalam cerita yang ditulisnya. Dalam penokohan watak atau karakter tokoh dapat dilihat melalui dialog tokoh, penjelasan tokoh, dan penggambaran fisik. Penokoham dan tokoh dalam sebuah cerita sangat erat kaitannya sebab perwatakan tokoh digambarkan melalui penampilan si tokoh. Menurut Nurgiyantoro (1995:166), penokohan menunjuk pada penempatan tokoh-tokoh tertentu dengan watak tertentu dalam sebuah cerita.

Berikut ini merupakan teknik penokohan:

a) Teknik Analitik: merupakan penokohan cerita dilakukan dengan memberikan uraian atau deskripsi secara langsung.

b) Teknik Dramatik: merupakan penokohan yang dilakukan secara tidak langsung/mendeskripsikan secara eksplisit.

c) Teknik Campuran: merupakan teknik campuran yang menggunakan teknik analitik & teknik dramatik.

Penulis melakukan analisis tokoh dan penokohan pada novel berjudul The Royal Bread karya Eko. Novel ini menceritakan tentang seorang laki-laki bernama Albert Glister, seorang anak penjual roti yang hidup di kota New York. Dia juga menjadi salah satu anak basket bersama sahabatnya yang bernama Jack. Suatu hari terdengar kabar bahwa putri kerajaan Inggris, yaitu Vanessa Carrol akan pindah ke sekolah yang sama dengan Albert. Saat hari kepindahan Vanessa tiba, terdapat penyambutan luar biasa dilakukan oleh sekolah. Beberapa hari kemudian, toko roti milik keluarga Albert terancam disita karena ayah Albert tidak mampu melunasi hutang akibat penggadaian toko tersebut. Kemudian munculah ide dari ibu Albert untuk mengajak Vanessa datang ke toko rotinya agar banyak wartawan yang meliput dan toko rotinya pun menjadi terkenal. Albert berhasil mengajak Vanessa untuk datang ke toko rotinya. Vannesa membantu Albert dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan hutang ayahnya. Awalnya Albert berpikir bahwa ia tidak akan pernah memiliki perasaan untuk Vanessa, namun hati berkata lain. Albert menyimpan perasaan kepada Vannesa. Tetapi saat itu Vanessa sedang berpacaran dengan salah satu anak yang terkenal nakal di sekolah, yaitu Seth. Tak lama, terdengan kabar bahwa Seth dan Vanessa putus. Hal itu menjadi sebuah kesempatan untuk Albert. Kejadian-kejadian selanjutnya membuat Albert dan Vannesa semakin dekat dan muncul perasaan lain di antara keduanya.

1. Albert Glister

Albert adalah tokoh utama protagonis dalam novel The Royal Bread. Albert merupakan remaja yang sederhana, rajin, ambisius, pekerja keras dan rendah hati.

2. Vanessa Carrol

Vanessa adalah tokoh utama protagonis dalam novel The Royal Bread. Walaupun dia adalah seorang berdarah-biru, dia bukan gadis yang lemah. Dia merupakan gadis yang kuat, tegas, dan cerdas.

3. Jack

Jack adalah tokoh tambahan protagonis sebagai sahabat Albert sejak kecil. Jack merupakan remaja yang penurut, sabar, dan pintar.

4. Seth

Seth merupakan tokoh tambahan antagonis. Dia memiliki watak yang licik, nakal dan merupakan penggoda wanita.

5. Mr. Glister

Mr. Glister adalah tokoh tambahan protagonis, dia merupakan ayah Albert. Dia memiliki watak yangb berwibawa, penyayang, pekerja keras dan tidak putus asa.

6. Mrs. Glister

Mrs. Glister adalah tokoh tambahan protagonis, dia merupakan ibu Albert. Dia memiliki watak yang sabar, penyayang, setia, bijak dan selalu memberikan motivasi.

Semua tokoh dalam novel The Royal Bread karya Eko digambarkan menggunakan teknik penokohan analitik, dramatik dan teknik campuran (analitik dan dramatik). Teknik penokohan dramatik yang digunakan, yaitu teknik cakapan, teknik tingkah laku, teknik pikiran dan perasaan, teknik reaksi tokoh, teknik reaksi tokoh lain dan teknik pelukisan fisik.

 

 

Hilton Hotel Luxury

A year ago, before the corona pandemic era, my family and I went to Bandung. We stayed at the Hilton hotel. We stayed for one day and one night. While there we were very happy with the service from the hotel.

As we all know, that Hilton hotels need no doubt about the facilities and services provided. We checked-in around 11.00 am, once entered the hotel lobby, I was amazed by the very beautiful inside, with high ceilings, majestic pillars, it looks very elegant. It was December, the month to celebrate Christmas, so the hotel contained a Christmas tree and many other Christmas ornaments.

welcomed by the receptionist and the check-in process was very fast. After that, we went to the room using the elevator, and our luggage was carried by the concierge. I forgot the name of the room we stayed in, but in that room, there were twin beds, each mattress was very wide, there was a television, mini bar, ironing table and coffee maker, the room also had a very nice view. There was also a bathroom, the bathroom was very spacious with a shower and bathtub, the bathroom knick-knacks, such as toothbrushes, towels, etc.

In the afternoon we tried to go to the hotel swimming pool. The pool was was very spacious. At dinner, we prefer to eat outside, because we wanted to try Bandung's specialities. After dinner we returned to the hotel, enjoy some of the facilities at the hotel. The next day we breakfasted at the hotel restaurant. There were many foods served, there was western, Asian and Indonesian food. The food was very varied and also tasted very delicious. At 10.30 am, we checked out and returned to Bogor.

My Holiday Story before Corona Era

Before Corona infected Indonesia, my family and I vacationed in Bandung for refreshing. At 01.00 pm we went to Bandung. We would stay in Bandung for 1 day, so we brought a change of clothes and some snacks to eat on the trip. When everything was ready, we went to Bandung and my father drove the car.

3 hours later, we finally arrived in Bandung at 3:00 pm. We stopped by a mosque first to do the Asr prayer, after that we went around the city of Bandung. At that time, my father also booked a hotel, because now everything's online, so booking hotels was easier and faster. After successfully booking a hotel, we immediately went to the hotel to take a break. At 08.00 pm we went for a walk around the hotel to find food, a lot of typical Bandung food sold there and looked very tempting. Finally, we choose to eat at seafood restaurants that are already famous in Bandung.

The next day, at 09.00 am we went to the Great Asia Africa in Lembang, Bandung. the Great Asia Africa is a tourist spot, where we could feel a sensation like being in Asia and Africa. We took a lot of pictures because there are lots of beautiful photo spots, there are "small countries" from various continents in Asia and Africa, such as India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, etc. In Korea, we could try to wear traditional South Korean clothes, namely hanbok. Besides that, we could also enter traditional Korean houses and saw lots of miniature Korean traditional buildings & accessories. We felt like we were on vacation to Buckchon Hanok Village. Next, we went to Japan, there was a duplicate of Fushimi Inari Taisha, a shrine that is located in Kyoto, Japan. We can also rent traditional Japanese clothes, kimono. There are also Japanese specialities, such as takoyaki and Doraemon's favourite food, dorayaki. Apart from that, we were able to see a beautiful and charming view of the Sakura tree. Then we went to Africa, there were traditional African house buildings and also African foods, namely African satay.

After going to Africa, we went to India, there was a miniature spot in the city of Jaipur or what is commonly called Jaipur India's City, which is quite large and colourful, we could rent traditional Indian clothes; Lehenga Choli. Next, we went to Thailand, there were also quite a lot of Thai knick-knacks. After going to several countries we went to our home country, Indonesia. Yup, there was also the Indonesian region, where the place is a mixture of Balinese and Sundanese. We decided to eat in the Sundanese area with a menu of traditional Sundanese food, one of which is Nasi Liwet.

Apart from the typical regions of the countries, there was also a food court that sold Asian and African food and drinks. There was also a café selling snacks and Turkish coffee. It felt like we were going abroad. Very exciting.

When the clock shows 3:00 pm, we went back to the hotel and rested for a while, then we went home, back to Bogor. That's the story of our vacation which was very pleasant before Corona took our time to go on vacation.

• Pantai Tangsi atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Pantai Pink dari Pulau Lombok terletak di desa Sekaroh, kecamatan Jerowaru, kabupaten Lombok Timur, Nusa Tenggara Barat.

• Pantai Pink Lambu yang terletak di desa Nggelu, kecamatan Lambu, Bima, Nusa Tenggara Barat.

     Frozen merupakan film yang dibuat oleh Disney. Film pertamanya yaitu Frozen (2013) sukses menjadi film animasi Disney terlaris. 6 tahun kemudian Disney merilis kembali kisah-kisah petualangan Anna dan Elsa dalam Frozen 2.

     Film Frozen 2 ini kembali disutradarai oleh Jennifer Lee dan Chris Buck. Kisah petualangan Elsa dan Anna kali ini dibuat dengan latar musim gugur, tiga tahun setelah kejadian dalam film yang pertama.

     Film ini dimulai dengan Agnarr (Ayah Elsa dan Anna, mantan Raja Arrendelle) menceritakan kisah Enchanted Forest dan Iduna (Ibu Elsa dan Anna, mantan Ratu Arrendelle) menceritakan sebuah sungai rahasia yang bernama Ahtohallan kepada Elsa dan Anna kecil.

     Kemudian cerita berlanjut dengan flashback ketika suatu hari di Enchanted Forest, terjadi pertempuran antara Kerajaan Arendelle dan Warga Northuldra, yaitu Kakek Elsa dan Anna yang saat itu menjadi Raja Arendelle ternyata membuat perjanjian kerja sama dengan para penghuni Northuldra dan mereka membuat bendungan besar. Lalu penghuni Northuldra merasa dikhianati oleh Raja Arendella sehingga terjadilah pertempuran. Ayah Elsa, Agnarr yang saat itu masih remaja pingsan saat terhempas roh angin dari desa tersebut lalu ditolong oleh orang misterius.  Sejak pertempuran itu, Enchanted Forest tertutup kabut. Para roh air, tanah, api dan angin yang tinggal di desa itu pun ‘berhibernasi’, tertidur dan tidak meluapkan emosi mereka.

     Lalu kisah kembali pada masa sekarang, Elsa tiba-tiba mendengar suara yang entah siapa dan darimana. Elsa berniat mencaritahu sumber suara tersebut, namun dia tidak sengaja membangunkan para roh dan roh tersebut memporak-porandakan Arendelle sehingga Arendelle menjadi hancur. Setelah itu misteri semakin terkuak, dari mulai kemana orang tua Elsa dan Anna, kenapa orang tua mereka bisa meninggal, suara apa yang Elsa dengar, siapa sosok misterius yang menyelamatkan Agnarr, bagaimana Agnarr dan Iduna bisa bertemu, bagaimana kelanjutan hubungan antara Anna dan Kristoff, hingga asal-usul kenapa Elsa bisa mendapatkan kekuatan es yang ia dapatkan sejak lahir. Semua misteri tersebut telah terjawab dalam film Frozen 2.

     Perkembangan karakter yang Elsa dan Anna miliki begitu penting. Sungguh menakjubkan bagaimana mereka benar-benar tumbuh menjadi sesuatu yang benar-benar bertentangan dengan mereka sebelumnya di film Frozen pertama. Dulu Elsa takut akan kekuatannya sendiri, sekarang dia adalah pelindung bagi rakyatnya. Anna pernah dipandang sebelah mata sebagai orang cadangan, sekarang dia adalah seorang pemimpin. Olaf yang semakin lucu dengan lawakannya, Kristoff dan Sven yang menyanyi di Frozen 2 seperti genre 90an, dan juga aku suka sekali animasi dan sinematografinya KEREEEEEN, tambah bagus dari film yang pertama. Dress Elsa dan Anna semuanya terlihat sangat detail. Lalu lagu-lagunya juga tidak kalah bagus, aku paling suka dengan lagu berjudul Show Yourself yang dinyanyikan oleh Idina Menzel (Elsa).
